Questions before you book

All questions

What does a notary public do?

A notary public verifies the identity of the people signing a document, confirms they are signing willingly, administers oaths when needed, and completes a notarial certificate with a signature and seal. Each act is recorded in a notary journal.

What ID do I need for a notary appointment?

Bring a current, unexpired government-issued photo ID, such as a Texas driver license or ID card, a U.S. passport, a driver license from another state or a U.S. military ID. Every signer needs their own.

Does Notable Notary offer mobile notary services?

Yes. Notable Notary travels to homes, offices, hospitals, nursing facilities, businesses and other agreed-upon locations across Arlington, Fort Worth, Dallas and the surrounding DFW area.

How much does a notary cost in Texas?

Texas law sets the maximum fee a notary may charge for each notarial act. Travel for mobile appointments is quoted separately and agreed before the visit, so you know the total in advance.

Can a notary give legal advice or prepare my document?

No. A notary public who is not an attorney cannot give legal advice, prepare legal documents or tell you which certificate to use. Please bring a completed document.
